About Me

I’m a professional photographer, filmmaker and artist based in the south west of England. My passion for the natural world drives the focus of much of my work. I’m currently studying a in BA Marine and Natural History Photography at Falmouth University.

I am a qualified animal carer and currently work with the donkeys at the Flicka Donkey Sanctuary. When I’m not at Flicka I’m a photographer and filmmaker.

I am a passionate wildlife conservation advocate and try to use my film and photography to inspire and educate people about our natural world.

My introduction to photography started when I was given a point and shoot camera for my 7th birthday. Since then I’ve upgraded camera’s and become obsessed with getting the ‘perfect shot.’ I have pursued my dream of becoming a professional photographer.

Recently I have moved into filmmaking and have made a few short films including my most recent work Project Thinking Horse which is a short film that explores the effects that horses have on peoples mental health.

current project; Project Thinking Horse

The aim of Project Thinking Horse is to educate people about the uses of horses in both physical and mental health therapy and to try to show the improvement in our general out look on life from being around horses. Its already been proven that just being around horses can have a similar affect on people’s mental health as to that of blue and green spaces.

Horses have been unwittingly healing and looking after our mental and physical well-being since 400bc maybe earlier. It’s recently been proven that riding horses helps both our physical and mental well-being and has become a more popular form of therapy especially for returning veterans, children, and young adults than traditional ‘sit down’ therapy.

Artist statement

In my photography and filmmaking I seek to explore the relationships between people and the natural world. I am fascinated by the affect that the natural world along with its many species of animals has on our mental health I strive to create photographs and films that educate and inspire people to get out and explore what nature is on their doorstep.

My main influence through my work is of course David Attenborough, although my work is also inspired by Hamza Yassin who has recently done some filming with David Attenborough in Wild Isles the most recent series.

Through my work I aim to inspire people with my photos of the natural world and try to show them that although we are losing are species and wild place a phenomenal rate there is still hope if they act now as there are still those places and hot spots for species if you search a hard enough.

I am very passionate about the natural would and believe its not beyond saving yet I hope that work inspires other people to care for the natural world.
